Where have the last 5 years gone!?
It seems incredible that only 5 years ago we first opened our doors with little more than 4 walls and a tube bending machine. As we reach our 5th anniversary we are on track to manufacture well in excess of £500,000 worth of exhaust parts in 2011. All of this against a background of doom and gloom and a recession that may technically have gone away but in reality is still with us.
From our initial beginnings in 2006 in a single workshop unit (No 1) in Aylesbury, we expanded into the next door unit (No 2) in 2010 and we are shortly to increase our capacity yet again by moving into a third unit (No 3). In that time we have undertaken work on behalf of 500 different customers.
Aside from this website our business comes from existing customers who trust us with their business on a regular basis and who recommend us to others. The number and variety of customers that we have worked for is testament to the very diverse nature of what we do. Our roots are in motorsport and we have fabricated and fitted exhaust systems to countless historic F1 cars, AC Cobra’s, Jaguar E Type’s, Ford Falcon’s, Mustang’s etc, etc. Other non historic highlights include our involvement with the championship winning Chevrolet world touring car, the new Noble M600 super car, the front running Buell race bikes in the US, the Proton Super 2000 rally car etc. We have also brought this motorsport expertise to the road car market with development of leading edge products for the Vauxhall VX220 which have been a huge success in both the UK and Europe.
Like most businesses however we recognise and appreciate that we are only as good as the people that we have working for us, more particularly those that fabricate the products that we sell and which are our shop window. Including Chris we have 6 fabricators in total, the majority of whom have many years experience in this industry, including F1. However if we want our growth to keep pace with the demands that the market has been making of us in the past couple of years, in particular, then we also need to grow our own resource hence our investment in apprenticeships. We have two apprentices currently and with an ever decreasing pool of available skilled people investing in young people in this way is an absolute must.
Up until now we have done little or no advertising however we will for the first time be exhibiting later this year at Professional Motorsport World Expo in Cologne. The exhibition runs from November 15-17 and you can be certain of a warm welcome if you visit us at Stand 6210. We look forward to seeing you there.
WTCC Driver & Manufacturers titles for Chevrolet
It went down to the last race of the season, but the RML run Chevrolet WTCC Team have secured both the Drivers and Manufacturers titles in the World Touring Car Championship.
In actual fact the drivers title was secured by Ivan Muller last week when an appeal was upheld against BMW Team RBM for using an illegal gearbox. The resulting penalty was to strip the team of the points it won in the previous round at Okayama, Japan, thereby handing the drivers title to Muller.

Throughout this immensely successful season Chris Tullett Exhausts have been fabricating and supplying the WTCC team with all of their exhaust requirements. We have met tight deadlines and design changes with our normal dedication and expertise to ensure that the RML Chevrolet WTCC team can continue to compete at the front of the grid.

We would like to pass on our congratulations to everyone at RML for achieving such success this season.

Jason Plato 2010 BTCC Champion
At the last round of the British Touring Car Championship Jason Plato secured the drivers title in the second race at Brands Hatch, having already won the first race that day.
The Chevrolet Cruze, run by the Northamptonshire based team RML, was in its first season in the BTCC having already competed in the WTCC the previous year. Throughout this time Chris Tullett Exhausts have been the sole supplier of exhaust components for both championships, reacting to the demands and tight deadlines these championships impose.

RML are still contesting the World Turing Car Championship, with the penultimate race at Okayama on the 29th – 31st October. Leading both the drivers and manufacturers championship RML are very well placed to repeat their BTCC success on the world stage.

We wish RML every success for the rest of the season and hope to be celebrating WTCC success with them.
VXR/Red Victor 1 drag racing team
Chris Tullett Exhausts now the official supplier to the VXR/Red Victor 1 drag racing team. We are proud to announce that we will be supplying the whole exhaust system for the VXR backed race car for 2011. This includes 321 stainless rolled tube, 321 merge collectors and 321 racing silencers.
The team will be racing in the FIA/MSA Pro Modified class with Red Victor 3, a 3000hp turbo charged car that is still street legal!! The Red Victor team have been racing for over 20 years in various race and street legal classes. Now they are taking the ultimate step for door cars with the new car. Team principal and driver Andy Frost says “We ran a turbocharged car for 4 years in a class called Street Eliminator setting world and class records along the way. Right from the outset we used 321 stainless steel because of its beneficial properties for not cracking under the immense stress of 2300hp+. We called Chris and spoke to him about supplying us with the same material as we’d previously used, this time for a 3000 hp engine. He was able to walk us through everything we needed for the entire exhaust system.

You can find out about the team and its accomplishments, watch videos of the car in action, or even join their Facebook or Twitter pages. We wish them every success in Pro Modified for the forthcoming season.
